Football
The McCrite family has a passion for football. Pat McCrite attended college on a football scholarship as did his son Cassidy. Both Pat and Cassidy held coaching positions at Washburn University in Topeka.
With football top of mind, we had an idea of creating our own team with the residents from our community. Comprised of eight of our toughest residents and Pat leading the team, we are proud to present the 2017 McCrite Plaza football squad. Click below to view our football commercial!
Baseball
After creating the football commercial in 2017, Pat decided to keep the sports fever going and began recruiting a baseball team.
But injuries happen in sports, especially at this age. Thankfully, McCrite Plaza’s rehabilitation center comes to the rescue and gets our players safe at home.
Comprised of seven of our toughest residents (in addition to our eight from the football team) and Pat leading the team, we are proud to present the 2018 McCrite Plaza baseball team. Click below to view our baseball commercial!
Donald Brown
An avid outdoors man, Donald Brown, spent many hours that he wasn’t working as a licensed electrician, fishing, hunting, and gardening. When he wasn’t providing handy-man tasks around the house, he and his wife, Mary, enjoyed going to movies, spending time with friends and family and landscaping together their four acre plus homestead. As new residents of McCrite Plaza they are discovering new social groups and making friends which comes easily to both Mary and Don. And while Mary admits to not watching much football Don’s late in life introduction to playing has not deterred him as his enthusiasm for the game makes him a valuable member of the team.
Dean Duling
Sports of any kind have been a lifelong passion of Dean Duling who played quarterback for Eskridge High School and also participated in baseball, basketball, and hockey. His lifelong passion for golf, as well as any form of exercise, helped him to convince Pat McCrite to put in a putting green for residents. Many mornings you’ll find Dean practicing on the green where he serves as the unofficial Manager. It was only natural then that Dean would become a member of the first McCrite Plaza football team where his athleticism serves him well.
